Ram Pickup Takes On The Great Outdoors
With research showing that 62 percent of all full-size pickup owners enjoy hunting, fishing and/or camping, the team at Ram Trucks knew that putting together a dedicated package to meet these customers’ needs was a no brainer. So what they did, according to Fred Diaz, president and CEO of the Ram Brand, was ask “Ram Truck customers—boaters, campers, fishing enthusiasts and hunters—what features would they like to see in a truck.”
And then the company delivered, with the new Ram Outdoorsman.
This fresh addition to the Ram pickup family brings together all the truck capabilities needed to thoroughly enjoy a weekend (or more) in the outdoors and then puts them in one affordable package. This includes enhanced towing features like a standard Class IV receiver hitch and both four- and seven-pin harness plugs, a limited slip differential, a robust cooling system and standard trailer-sway control on Ram 1500 models, along with all-terrain tires, fog lights, quad halogen headlamps and underbody protection for dealing with rough roads—or no roads at all.
Another new benefit for those who love to hunt and fish is the optional Mopar RamBox Holster. This unique storage solution fits into the Ram 1500’s exterior storage bins and can be used to secure two rifles or shotguns, or up to six fishing rods. The RamBox also will be available for separate purchase from Ram dealers or the Mopar eStore beginning in the fourth quarter of this year, with an MSRP of $205.
The Outdoorsman models themselves will go on sale in the third quarter, starting at $28,350. Notably, the package will be available on a wide range of Ram pickups, including two- and four-wheel-drive Ram 1500, 2500 HD and 3500 HD (single rear-wheel versions only) trucks in all cab styles with both short and long wheelbases.
The bottom line here: If you’ve been searching for a new way to celebrate deer season later this year, your hunt is now officially over.
